I’m sure some of you are asking, “so what does this have to do with social media?” In short, nothing and everything. Most of my community members are either businesses leveraging social media or owners of businesses that provide social media marketing services. So, better to know.
I immediately looked at Hawaii and well, as if I already didn’t know, we’re ranked dead last. Here’s just one finding:
“Hawaii ranks 50th for having the highest total tax costs for mature capital-intensive manufacturing operations, with a TETR of 26.2 percent. This tax burden is more than twice the national average of 12.7 percent. Hawaii does have the lowest property tax burden of any state for this type of operation. However, it offsets this with a high corporate tax burden, the nation’s highest sales tax burden, and the second-highest unemployment (UI) tax burden.”
Talk about swallowing a jagged little pill. Below is the full study.
